DISCIPLINES
Located within a narrow, walled plot in the coastal enclave of Talpe, this beach house is conceived as a spatial journey. Extending nearly 100 meters from the road to the shoreline, the site traverses a gradient from dense tropical vegetation to the open horizon of the Laccadive Sea. The architecture responds by choreographing movement, framing views, and carefully calibrating enclosure and openness.
ARCHITECTURE
The design orchestrates a deliberate progression through the site, intensifying anticipation before revealing the coastal landscape. Arrival is marked by a moment of compression—defined by solid walls, planar architectural elements, and desert-inspired landscaping that replaces the surrounding greenery. This controlled threshold heightens awareness and prepares the transition toward openness.
Beyond this compressed entry, the house expands vertically and spatially into a lofty pavilion that anchors the main living areas. These spaces are oriented toward the sea, unfolding around an open courtyard and an elevated pool deck that frame expansive ocean views. The plan is intentionally minimal and restrained, allowing space, light, and horizon to define the experience.
