DISCIPLINES
Innovation, culture, and community guide the design approach behind the new KWSP Georgetown office. Spanning four thoughtfully designed floors, the space emphasizes intuitive user experience, with accessible service counters, flexible consultation and meeting rooms, collaborative work areas, and informal breakout zones. This project forms part of a nationwide strategic initiative to modernize service centers and workspace environments across organizations.
INTERIORS
Penang’s cultural heritage, with the celebrated Peranakan-inspired ceramics, ornate floral motifs, and intricate geometric patterns, creates a strong sense of place at both micro and macro scales. These traditional elements are paired with naturalistic textures and contemporary finishes, creating a harmonious dialogue between the past and present. The resulting KWSP Georgetown office is an office that not only meets operational needs but also acts as a cultural touchpoint, connecting people with Penang’s heritage within the office space while reflecting KWSP’s brand values.
QUANTITY SURVEYING
In addition to interior design, our multidisciplinary team also provided comprehensive cost management and contract administration, ensuring the design vision was delivered within budget and on schedule. At the pre-contract stage, preliminary cost estimates were prepared to establish feasibility and inform budgeting decisions. Procurement strategies and detailed elemental cost plans guide the final planning strategies that align with project delivery. Throughout design development, ongoing cost checks were conducted, value engineering input provided, and the financial implications of design changes carefully assessed, ensuring operational functionality and cost effectiveness were achieved without compromise. The team also managed tender queries and documentation, reports, contractor recommendation and negotiations.
During construction, project costs were closely monitored and controlled through monthly financial reporting. Contractor claims, including extensions of time and loss and expense, were evaluated rigorously to maintain transparency, ensuring effective financial management throughout construction.
ENGINEERING
The engineering services holistically integrate structural, civil, architectural, geotechnical, and building services engineering for a safe, functional and cost-effective design. This happens through a close collaboration with other construction professionals, including architects, contractors and authorities to manage risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and achieve sustainable outcomes. For a seamless completion, Building Information Modelling (BIM), prefabrication, and green building practices were adopted.
