DISCIPLINES
In dire need of rejuvenation, Pantai Tanjong Batu is a public parkland that spans 44.9 acres along the scenic shoreline of Bintulu, Sarawak. VERITAS Landscape took up the challenge to revamp the existing park facilities and activate underutilized beachfront spaces. The aim of this project is not only to improve the visitor experience, but also to accommodate high weekend traffic efficiently.
LANDSCAPE
The strategy focused on improving accessibility by introducing secondary entrances, upgrading existing amenities, and creating new vantage points that distribute visitors more evenly across the park. A user-friendly promenade along the previously inaccessible beachfront provides the public with safe and easy access to admire the site’s unique natural rock formations.
These interventions not only improved circulation but also helped reduce congestion during peak periods, creating a more pleasant and inviting environment. The thoughtful enhancements and careful integration of natural elements have received widespread acclaim from the community, making Pantai Tanjong Batu a standout public park in Bintulu and a cherished recreational destination for locals and visitors alike.
