Inspired by the metaphor of music, the 24-storey Radisson Blu tower was envisaged as a beautiful composition of various spatial programs to create a unique user experience as well a visually stimulating architectural form.
Located in the vicinity of other iconic structures in the Business Bay area such as Burj Khalifa and the Opus, the Radisson Blu tower is oriented to respond to the immediate context, maximizing the benefit of being close to the water-front while capitalizing on the premium views toward Burj Khalifa.
ARCHITECTURE
The planning of the scheme is composed around four major zones, which are the public (commercial) zone, the semi-private hotel, private residential units and the shared service/circulation zone in the centre.
The public facade is effortlessly integrated with the pedestrian walkway and cityscape which enhances the subtle transition as one approaches and enters the building. The podium is filled with commercial programs that become part and parcel of the urban fabric such as retail and offices. Parking and building services are tucked within the podium, masked by the commercial façade.
With various components and functions within this project, it has become a small self-sufficient development; a miniature township nestled within the larger urban fabric. The project developed by Bonyan Emirates, contains 432 rooms and suites and was completed in 2012.
