Architecture

Located in Business Bay, close to the world’s tallest building the Burj Khalifah, the Radisson Blu Canal View is a hospitality and residential development envisaged to be an iconic feature in itself. Inspired by the maritime tradition of the waterfront, this skyscraper adopts the metaphor of a modern ‘sail’.

ARCHITECTURE

Interpreting individual components of the sail such as the woven fabric, this idea is further enhanced by introducing subtle textured patterns on the tower’s façade; a cultural reference to the traditional textile industry of Dubai. The building composition further accentuates the lightness and floating effect of the sail’s characteristics.

The form, clad with a glass curtain wall, is designed with curves in both directions along its surface and edges. The building has a very high floor efficiency with a majority of rooms overlooking the most premium view in the desert city toward the Burj Khalifah. The tower is arranged east-west for ideal solar orientation and the pool deck is located on the western side. The 22-storey tower was developed by Bonyan Emirates and was completed in 2019.
