RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow the company’s policies, procedures, sustainability commitments, environmental standards, and quality management system.
- Develop project sustainability strategies that align with the client’s objectives, project brief, budget, programme, statutory requirements, and applicable green-building rating systems.
- Conduct climate, site, energy, water, material, waste, transport, indoor environmental quality, carbon, and resilience assessments.
- Establish sustainability targets, performance indicators, design criteria, and certification requirements for each project.
- Advise the project team on passive design, energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, sustainable materials, waste reduction, biodiversity, climate resilience, and occupant wellbeing.
- Coordinate sustainability requirements with the client, architect, engineers, landscape architects, quantity surveyors, contractors, suppliers, facility managers, and specialist consultants.
- Carry out or coordinate energy modelling, daylight analysis, thermal comfort analysis, carbon assessments, life-cycle assessments, water calculations, and other environmental simulations.
- Prepare sustainability reports, scorecards, compliance matrices, certification submissions, design recommendations, and supporting documentation.
- Manage applications for relevant green-building certifications and sustainability ratings.
- Review architectural, engineering, landscape, and interior design proposals to verify compliance with sustainability targets and certification criteria.
- Prepare sustainability specifications, schedules, tender requirements, and contractor obligations.
- Review contractor material submissions, environmental product declarations, product certifications, method statements, waste-management plans, commissioning plans, and sustainability evidence.
- Attend client, consultant, authority, certification, coordination, and site meetings.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with sustainability requirements, approved materials, environmental controls, and certification criteria.
- Monitor sustainability performance during design, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover, and post-occupancy stages.
- Identify sustainability risks, non-compliance, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement, and recommend corrective action.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, measurement and verification, building tuning, and post-occupancy evaluation where required.
- Ensure that sustainability-related as-built records, certificates, calculations, commissioning reports, operation manuals, and handover documents are complete.
- Maintain current knowledge of sustainability legislation, standards, rating tools, technologies, materials, and industry best practices.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare and submit accurate sustainability reports, calculations, assessments, and certification documentation.
- Verify that sustainability requirements are incorporated into the project drawings, specifications, procurement documents, and construction activities.
- Provide formal sustainability comments, recommendations, and compliance reviews within the authorized scope.
- Monitor and report the project’s performance against approved sustainability targets and certification requirements.
- Immediately report any material non-compliance that may affect certification, statutory obligations, environmental performance, operational efficiency, or the client’s sustainability commitments.
