Based in Kuala Lumpur, VERITAS has grown into an international design practice with offices across eight countries, offering architecture, planning, interior design, landscape design and related consultancy services.

David received his Bachelor degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1983 and his Master in Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design in 1986. Upon graduation, he was awarded the prestigious Aga Khan Travel Fellowship for research in Islamic architecture. His architectural outlook is shaped by a strong international education, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a long-standing commitment to design excellence rooted in cultural context, environmental responsibility and professional rigour.

Over the course of his career, David has provided leadership, guidance and strategic direction to VERITAS’ award-winning projects in Malaysia and internationally. His work and influence span architecture, master planning, interior design and landscape design, with a particular focus on building a design organisation capable of delivering at regional and global scale. He also personally curated and edited the VERITAS Monograph, published in 2022, which documents the firm’s evolution, values and body of work.

Beyond architectural practice, David has been active in the promotion of global trade in services, entrepreneurship and professional development. He has spoken internationally on behalf of organisations including the International Trade Centre, MATRADE and Malaysia’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry. He is a Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Architects, a Member of the ASEAN Architects Council, ACAM and MIID, and an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects.

David’s contributions have been recognised through numerous awards, including the Most Outstanding Malaysian Award by the Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1999, the BrandLaureate Professional of the Year Award, and the Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award by the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific. He remains active as a speaker, mentor and advocate for architects and entrepreneurs, while also supporting environmental conservation as Vice President of RIMAU, an NGO dedicated to the protection of the critically endangered Malayan Tiger.
